Notes

The TIKAHIRI rock band was formed in 2003 by the Salmon Brothers who wrote all the songs recorded on their debut album “Tamaki Hope’a” which was released after the band’s line-up was completed with cello player Simon Pillard (2005) and drummer Stephane Rossoni (2007).
The style, as the brothers put it themselves, is “acoustic underground”, where Paumotu, (their mother tongue) and english are smoothly blended  as well as their eclectic influences. This first album is completely acoustic, featuring cello in every songs. So doing, it became their brand, their special color making the difference.
The lyrics are mostly inspired by eternal themes such as Love, peace, war, Nature and religion. Sound engineer Jean-Luc Casula who follows them since the beginning, helped enhancing the music, thanks to his sharp ear, without indulging in easy high-tech effects. Tribal and guttural sounds attune with soft cello melodies. The blending that makes it a must…
